Crete
Our last stop in Greece was Crete, which as the Greek’s would say is practically it’s own country. After being in Amorgos and Naxos arriving in Crete felt like arriving to a big city like Paris. There is so much to do and see on Crete and we only a small amount. We first stayed in a small, beautiful village in the montain town of Mirsini before heading to the beach town of Sisi two places that couldn’t be more opposite. I loved Mirsini because it is quiet and traditional, and surrounded by nature. The village doesn’t have any shops and the closest grocery shop is a 30 min hike to the next village. Sisi was busier and more modern with lots of tourists, upscale resorts and amenities. The sunsets from both were unbelievable, in Mirsini with the sun setting behind the mountains and from Sisi behind Santorini in the distance.
